Ms. Sherri's mission is to provide high quality, skilled, compassionate instruction to support struggling readers as they rise up to meet their potential. The goal for all of her students is for them to become confident and skilled readers, writers, and spellers.

Orton Gillingham

Orton Gillingham (OG) is a multisensory print-to-speech approach to teaching reading. It follows the Science of Reading. OG teaches to mastery before moving on to the next concept. It is a thorough approach that is rule-based. Because of this, it can take a while to get through the scope and sequence.

EBLI (Evidence Based Literacy Instruction) is a speech-to-print (also known as Structured Linguistic Literacy) approach to teaching reading. It follows the Science of Reading. EBLI does not require teaching to mastery to move on to the next lesson, teaches patterns, and is not a rule-heavy approach. It typically takes less time to work through the scope and sequence.
